Episcopal Farmworker Ministry is a joint project of the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina and the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, based in Dunn, NC. We work with agricultural workers and immigrant families in Eastern rural NC. Our ministry coordinates direct services, leadership programs, community education programs, and advocacy in support of the community.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Warehouse & Facilities Manager’s primary responsibilities are warehouse organization, ensuring efficient distribution of donations to the EFWM community, and overseeing the routine maintenance of the buildings and grounds on EFWM property. The Warehouse & Facilities Manager will lead volunteers and work with contractors to carry out these duties.

This is a Part Time, Exempt position requiring flexibility to work weekend hours. The Warehouse & Facilities Manager is an on site job, which requires presence on site for 15 hours a week, to include monthly Saturday food distributions, and other occasions where supplies are distributed to the community or when volunteers come to work on the property.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a well organized and clean warehouse, with regular safety tasks and opening/closing procedures completed daily
  • Create inventory of warehouse and storage areas, and track incoming donations
  • Manage volunteer groups and individuals to complete tasks as they relate to the warehouse, building and grounds
  • Create and maintain a schedule of routine cleaning, maintenance and repair for the grounds and all buildings
  • Work with staff to determine upcoming events and prepare warehouse, building and grounds as needed
  • Contact local professionals for repairs to HVAC, plumbing, roof, equipment, and vehicles
  • Develop and maintain schedule for routine cleaning and maintenance of vehicles, including inspections, registration, and insurance

Requirements:

  • To be respectful, courteous and professional in all interactions with staff, volunteers and the community served
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong passion for the organization’s mission and ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • To possess organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Experience in management of warehouse and/or other similar facilities preferred
  • Bilingual preferred: Spanish/English, but Spanish is a must
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the US

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on their feet for long periods of time (8-hour days, 5 days/week). The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, as well as pulling and reaching to obtain stock and/or acquire merchandise for sale. Position requires the ability to frequently lift products/supplies, up to 50 lbs.

This job operates primarily in a warehouse environment and can require operating equipment such as a forklift, power tools, hand tools, ladders, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment. Occasionally works in outside conditions that can include heat and humidity, or cold.
