Episcopal Farmworker Ministry offers a program to allow adults and children from churches or institutions to visit and get to know more about the lives of farmworkers and their families.
The visit has been described as a unique experience, showing the difficult conditions in which many farmworkers live, encouraging introspective thought, and creating a connection between the food on our plate and the human face that helped harvest it. Read a first-hand account here.
Groups of 15 to 75 people have taken part in the program, some choosing to do a weekend stay while others elect a weekday option.
Visiting groups stay at EFwM facilities, where they can sleep, cook, play, etc. They really are welcomed to feel right at home. Download a copy of our Youth Camp brochure, an application, a copy of Youth Camp rules, and a permission and release form.
A donation from visiting groups is requested in order to help us pay for church facility costs.
